Item of the Week

My item of the week are these gorgeous sun dial earrings from Asos:

Their dramatic detail and sunny style will keep you smiling throught the winter months and having been reduced from £6 to just £3.50 these are an absolute steal!

A Cheeky Extra

I've just heard that polka dots will be back as a big trend next season so keep an eye out for anything with some dotty action!

Trend Alert!

Autumn/Winter 09

Here we are again, back in the cold dark days of winter. The short skirts and bold prints of summer are over and its time to crack out black tights and knitwear.

This year though, instead of being thrown into wintery despair i'm planning on celebrating with the return of some of my favourite fabrics to the catwalks. Sequins, feathers and lace are all very much in this winter as well as another of my favourites - the playsuit. Basically think about anything Florence Welch (of 'and the Machine' fame) has worn recently and you're there.

Topshop, one of the best high street trend indicators, has got alot of great lace/sequin/feather items this season as well as some faboosh knitwear. My favourite piece is this £50 little lovely from the Kate Moss for Topshop collection:

It's flattering and stylish as well as practical for winter, well done Kate!

Finally, I can't finish without mentioning florals. Once thought of a purely summer style, florals are very big this winter. My favourite is this £48 Yaya Nom de Plume vest available from Urban Outfitters:
One of the Outfitters newest designers, Yaya Nom de Plume has really hit the nail on the head with this using a zip to bring an on trend tougher edge to the otherwise soft and femine top. This will also transfer pretty nicely to Spring Summer '10 so definitely a worthwhile purchase.

Starting Small - Item of the Week

This is the first in a weekly series of posts I want to do called Item of the Week. The Item of the Week this week is (drum roll please)...a Paul and Joe Make up Brush holder:
It's £14 and available from Urban Outfitters.
I fell in love with the Paul and Joe brand when I was about 16 and one of my best friends wore the most stunning Paul and Joe flat cap out to the park one day. It was around that time in the early noughties when hats were 'the thing' and this one was right on trend - brown check with pretty applique flowers - absolutely gorgeous. From then on I always thought Paul and Joe were great at making functional and beautiful things and this cutie of a brush holder proves that point perfectly.

Shhh...can you keep a secret?

There's no denying it, I have to come clean...i'm a massive shopaholic

My long suffering friends tire of me endlessly discussing my latest purchase and moaning over a lack of money as it's all been spent on my raging addiction. When i'm not shopping i'm thinking about shopping, when i'm not thinking about shopping, i'm talking about shopping, when i'm not talking about shopping-ok so you get the picture.

So what have I decided to do? To do something productive, that what. Sure this blog may not help me to curb my spending in the real world, but maybe sharing some of the shopping tidbits I pick up each week with you will make me feel like i'm doing something useful with my obsession!

If a little bit of fashion know-how, a splash of make up and a lot of fun discussion sounds like your cup of tea then keep reading...
